He has a Degree in Navigation and Maritime Transport and a Master in Port Management, Logistics and Information Systems at Cardiff University (Wales, United Kingdom). With an extensive experience in maritime transport environment in general, port bussines in particular. From 25 years to now he has been involved in EDI systems, e-commerce, and in research&development projects, always in close cooperation with port community companies.

Member of EEG2 and D4 (Message Development transport group) of the Western European EDIFACT Board (WEEB). Representative of Ports in the Digital Transport and Logistic Forum of the European Commission (DGMove).

He has participated in different R&D projects as INTERPORT, EUROBORDER TRAPIST, etc. dealing with the application of EDI and AEI techniques, procedures improvement and provision of new tools to enhance efficicency in Ports.

Currently, as a Competititiveness and Innovation Manager of the Port, he is the Project Manager of e-puertobilbao, the Port Community system of the Port of Bilbao and he is the responsible of the Integrated Management System that embraces ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001.
